Crystal Ball Fairy & Space Queen Paintings

I have two new paintings that I wanted to share with everyone. The first painting is titled Crystal Ball Fairy and is the piece that is being debuted in my art book, Fantasy & Fairy Tales: Art of Julia Finucane.

A beautiful fairy with big eyes, jet black hair, and golden wings. She holds a crystal ball in her tiny hands dreaming about her future. The painting is 8x10 inches on canvas board. Painted in acrylic paints, then varnished for protection of worldly elements.

Available in 4 differents style prints, they can be viewed and purchased in my Fairy Art & Mermaid Art gallery.
The 2nd image is titled Space Queen and is my very first space themed painting. I have started placing my artwork in Fantasy / Sci fi Conventions, so I wanted to do a series of space related pieces. I plan on doing many more and already have 2 more sketched out. My next is going to be a mermaid & space combination.

Space Queen is also 8x10 inches, painted with acrylics on canvas board and varnished. Available as well in all 4 print styles. They can be viewed and purchased in my Fantasy, Fairy Tale Art gallery. The original is also available for sale.

Both originals paintings are available.

Fantasy Fairy Tale Art Book - Julia Finucane

I am so excited to announce that my BOOK is out. To order and for more information and images of the book interior, view my Book Info Page. My very first book... Fantasy & Fairy Tales: The Art of Julia Finucane.

Fantasy & Fairy Tales: The Art of Julia Finucane is a great book to add to any collection. Written & illustrated by me, this art book is near and dear to my heart.

Debuting my latest painting, Crystal Ball Fairy. This is the first time anyone is seeing this image. Featuring also a step-by-step quide on how to create a fantasy painting, one can learn different artistic techniques and experiment with painting on there own. Book also includes a Fantasy art section with many of my pieces of artwork. In Full color, these images are clear, crisp, and are of the highest quality.

This book is not only a great tutorial book, it is also a portfolio style book. It is like owning multiple art prints, all in one package. With each painting image, are lovely descriptions about the inspiration and process taken in creating the paintings.

With 67 pages of information and full color images, this book is for any fantasy, fairytale, or art lover. For children and adults alike. The book also features an About the Artist section which tells a little about who I am as a person and artist.

Space Queen - Works In Progress (WIP) - Fantasy Painting

I wanted to share my latest Works in Progress (WIP) painting that I am currently working on.

The painting is space themed and will be titled "Space Queen." Done in acrylic paints on 8" x 10" canvas board, it is my first space / sci fi piece.

Always being fascinated with stars, planets, and outer space; I am excited about my new space series of paintings.

Space art prints available.

I am also branching out into the Fantasy / Sci fi  convention world, so this is a perfect time to start creating these pieces.

Like every artwork I create, I started out with a rough sketch and idea. That sketch became a final sketch which I then transfered onto the canvas.

I then painted the first layer of the background and started the dress.

I hope to have this finished within a few days and will post more updates soon.

Eeriecon 14 - Fantasy Convention & Kickstarter Reminder

Look for my artwork at Eeriecon 14. I will have artwork available at this Fantasy / Sci fi Convention, in the Print Shop in the Art Show area. Located in Niagara Falls, NY, the con is being held at the Days Inn at the Falls from April 27 - 29, 2012.

*Please Note - I will not be present in person, but will be there in spirit.

Also I have 11 days left oh my Kickstarter project. The information is as follows...

It is a kickstarter project and I need everyones help. Please share around and maybe even support. The project can be seen on my project page.

The Project - For this project, 12 whimisical bird paintings with be created by artist Julia Finucane. Painted using acrylic paints on textured watercolor paper. These 12 paintings will feature cute fantasy birds. All with big eyes, little beaks, and different themes (one for each calendar month). Each original painting will be 5" x 7" inches.

When the paintings are finished, the Fantasy Bird Art Calendar will be created and produced, along with fine art prints, drawings, and later on merchandise as well. The funding will pay for art supplies to create the paintings (paper and paints) and production and creation of the calendar.

Rewards will be offered for all backers, all created by me, the artist. These rewards include fine art prints, the finished calendar (signed), original drawings, and the original paintings. (This is my first kickstarter, and I hope for it to be successful. This will also be my first calendar featuring all of my artwork)

How Kickstarter Works - If you haven't heard of kickstarter before, it is very easy to use. Kickstarter is a platform for creative people, to get the help they need to start a specific project.

Supporters of the artwork and project pledge a certain amount. Each supporter will given a reward / gift. Different for each pledge amount. It is easy to pledge, just use your Amazon account.

It is all or nothing: if the whole funding goal of $500 is met, then your pledge will be sent from your account on the day the project closes. If the funding goal is not met, then no money is sent. Rewards / Gifts will be given if goal is met.

And always, Thanks for you support,

Julia =)
