Winter Festival in Downtown Buffalo, NY

Yesterday in my hometown of Buffalo, NY was the first ever winter festival. They held it in downtown Buffalo and from the pictures looks like a lot of fun.

They had an ice maze, a hockey tournament on the lake, and tubbing down the side of the skyway ramp. The skyway is a very high and scary highway that stretches up in the air and connects downtown Buffalo and Hamburg, NY.

I didn't get the pleasure of going, since I am currently not in Buffalo this week, but my parents did go and said it was fun. This was the first year, so I bet next year will be even better.

Every piece of clothing is uniquely handmade. I screen print each piece of clothing by using fabric ink and a handmade screen printing device. 
The device is made with an embroidery ring, shear curtain fabric, and mod podge. You can go here to view more about this process.

Each clothing piece comes with a handmade tag made by me that shows authenticity of the product.

When custom ordering your piece, you choose the color or colors you prefer and the size you will need.

Panties are $7.00 plus shipping.

Tops are $10.00 plus shipping.
If you order a PJ set, they are $15.00 each set plus shipping. A set include one panty and one undershirt.

My 'Droopy Heart' rag dolls are available for purchase. You can view some already made here . 


Every doll is hand made, unique, and one-of-a-kind. I sew each dolls body on a sewing machine and every accessory and detail is hand sewn. I hand stuff the dolls with polyfill. 


The doll faces are also unique in that they are each hand painted by me with acrylic paint. 


Each doll is named by me and comes with a hand printed 'Droopy Heart' tag that insured the dolls authenticity.

When custom ordering your doll, you choose the colors for the hair, clothing, and eye color. Also you can choose the body style you would like. The body can have standard arms and legs, a round body, or a curved doll body. Please look at the doll examples for a reference. Each doll comes with a 'Droopy Heart' sewn on the body.



You can name your doll. If ordering for someone else, I can name the doll after that special person.

Homes of New Orleans

This past week on HGTV, I watched the show Holmes on New Orleans. It was about the contractor Mike Holmes, who went down to New Orleans to build a stilted house that would be safe from Hurricanes. 

Watching this show made me miss that city, which is one of my favorites. Actually it probably is my favorite city. The food, the culture, and the building are just a few of my favorite parts of the city. I also love the architecture of the homes in the french quarter and the garden district. These homes are vibrant, southern structures that have huge porches with white rocking chairs. I plan on having a house like this someday even if I have to design it myself. 

Yesterday I searched photo's of New Orleans houses and came up with some great ones that I wanted to shear. These are the photo's posted throughout this blog.

Google blogger static pages

I have been spending the past couple of days updating my blog, so if some parts look 'under construction' they will be fixed shortly. 

I just learned how to add 'pages' onto blogger that can be used as 'static pages' which are good for bio's and portfolios. I am adding on sections that include pages of... About me, An art gallery, and a store page. I want to make this blog similar to my main Website.

Time Burton's Alice in Wonderland

The commercials for the upcoming Tim Burton movie, Alice in Wonderland, have finally come out. I cannot wait to see this movie. It is so exiting that one of my favorite childhood movies, is being done by Time Burton. 

I have been a fan of Time Burton for as long as I can remember. I actually just went to see his art show at the MOMA (The Museum of Modern Art) which was absolutely amazing. They had actual props from his movies and artwork from when he was in school as well as some from the present day. 

Alice in Wonderland stars Johnny Depp and Anne Hathaway and comes out on March 5, 2010. So mark your calenders =)

Back from the Indie Market

Well, I am back to work after a quick vacation for the Buffalo Indie Market, which was so much fun. I met so many nice people and talented artists. I wish that I could do this market every scheduled date. 

Here are some photos of my display table. 

My 'Droopy Heart' dolls and my 'Droopy Heart' screen printed top and panty sets were a huge success. I also sold an original painting, which is always great. 

Buffalo Indie Market

Well tomorrow is the Buffalo Indie Market and I am very excited to see all the talented vendors that will be there. I went to the restaurant where it will be the other night to see the space and it was such a nice place. It is located in the heart of the Elmwood district.
